CRC Dendy Short Film Award
Each year at the Sydney Film Festival the Community Relations Commission presents a short film award.
Films where content reflects the multicultural experience in Australia are eligible for the CRC Dendy Short Film Award.
The film must meet all of the following criteria:
- contains material of a language which celebrates the cultural and linguistic diversity of Australia; and
- is a treatment of issues arising from the Australian immigration and settlement process; and,
- is a treatment of general issues in one or more cross-cultural settings.
The Award is valued at $5,000.
The 2011 Award recipient was Pauline Chan who won the prize for her film titled “33 Postcards” which was inspired by real life stories, explores how two individuals come together despite two different cultures, ages and unexpected circumstances.
