NSW Premier’s Vietnamese Community Awards

The NSW Premier’s Vietnamese Community Awards recognise the long standing relationship between NSW and members of the Vietnamese community.   The Vietnamese community has a long history in NSW and has and made a substantial contribution to the development of NSW since the 1970s. The awards have been established to acknowledge the work of individuals, organisations and business in promoting and contributing to economic relations, cultural exchange, community service and harmony.  

Award Recipients will receive a certificate and official citation.  

People with an active and direct involvement with the Vietnamese community are eligible for nomination under the following five categories:   

Trade and Industry

This award recognises an individual who has achieved outstanding success in fostering economic relations between NSW and the Vietnamese community in any industry sector.

Arts and Culture

This award acknowledges the achievements of an individual that has enhanced the cultural and artistic life of NSW through the promotion of cultural understanding, information exchange and artistic endeavours between NSW and the Vietnamese community.

Community Harmony

This award recognises the contribution and achievement of an individual or organisation in facilitating and promoting social cohesion and understanding between members of the Vietnamese community and broader community in NSW.

Community Service

This award acknowledges the contribution of an individual from within the Vietnamese community for exceptional service to the people of NSW. This may include, but is not confined to, services in health, settlement, social and welfare, aged, disability and youth.

Lifetime Achievement

This award will honour an individual who has provided outstanding volunteer service over an extended period of time.  This service shall be through either direct contribution by the individual or by enabling others to provide community service.  These contributions shall have had a significant impact on the social or cultural well being of the Vietnamese community in NSW.
