2003 Symposium

The 2003 Community Relations Symposium brought together around 200 delegatesfrom a wide range of community organisations to share information and to define thepriority themes and common issues that should be progressed by ethnic communitiesand community organisations, the Commission and other key partners over the nexttwelve months.

The specific goals of the 2003 Symposium were to enable the participants to:

• Discuss the challenges and issues of concern arising for communities in thecurrent socio-political environment and to exchange views on possible solutions
• Identify how communities and community organisations are responding to thesechallenges and is sues
• Identify best practice strategies and proven approaches that were emerging thatshould be developed or promulgated
