Working at CRC
Please note that all vacant positions at the CRC are advertised through the NSW Government online site, jobs.nsw, at http://jobs.nsw.gov.au. The following information is general in nature. Advertisements on jobs.nsw will include specific information relevant to the position being advertised.

Employment Opportunities
The Community Relations Commission For a multicultural NSW (CRC) is committed to the following common selection criteria: equal employment opportunity, occupational health and safety, the principles of multiculturalism and ethical work practices. In addition, all CRC employees enjoy a smoke-free workplace.
When applying for positions, all applicants are expected to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the abovementioned common selection criteria together with the selection criteria specifically relating to the advertised position.
Applicants for permanent positions must be Australian citizens or permanent residents. Applicants for temporary positions must be:
- Australian citizens
- Permanent residents or
- Temporary residents with a current work visa
Applicants for vacant positions are invited to contact the nominated contact officer to obtain an information package relating to the position. The name and telephone number of the contact officer is published as part of the advertisement. After receiving the information package, you may wish to ask questions relating to the position. The nominated contact officer will be only to happy to answer any questions you may have as well as provide background information relating to the CRC. The CRC employs staff covered by four major awards. These awards are:
- Crown Employees (Administrative and Clerical Officers) Salaries Award
- Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award
- Crown Employees (Public Sector - Salaries 1997) Award
- Crown Employees (Interpreters / Translators, Ethnic Affairs Commission) Award
Process
All vacant positions in the CRC are advertised in the Public Service Notices, the government employment section of Saturday's Sydney Morning Herald and Daily Telegraph as well as various Ethnic newspapers, as applicable. You need to obtain an information package and submit your application addressing all the selection criteria as stated in the advertisement by the nominated closing date. The CRC values the time you take in developing your application and will acknowledge receipt of all applications for employment.
A minimum of 3 people (including one person independent of the CRC) will form the selection panel. The panel will review all applications for a position and identify those meeting all the essential criteria to be called for interview. Should you be called for an interview, you have the right to know who will be sitting on the panel.
The selection panel will recommend the most meritorious applicant for appointment to the position. All applicants will be advised as to whether they have been successful or not.
Please note that the CRC is unable to accept unsolicited applications. All applications must be for an advertised position.
