Pig's Heads Protest Totally Rejected
28.11.2007This morning’s disgraceful installation of pigs heads above the Australian flag at the site of the proposed Islamic school in Camden gives the lie to the opposition to the proposed construction being solely on the basis of planning concerns, according to the Chair of the Community Relations Commission for a multicultural NSW, Stepan Kerkyasharian.

Inter-faith “Woodstock” Wins Grand Marketing Award
16.11.2007An interfaith festival held in an idyllic hideaway on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast has won the grand prize at the 2007 National Multicultural Marketing Award. The National Interfaith Festival, set out to combat, what they called, the rising level of tension and fear within Australia, arising from parts of the major religions.

Security guard picks up CRC award for volunteering
A young Sydney man who has spent years helping the children at Villawood Detention Centre has been named the 2006 CRC Volunteer of the Year. Australian Gary Taylor of Fairfield who has established many programmes targeting children and youth including the “Kids for Kids” Programme and the Australian League of Immigration Volunteers (ALIV) which now has 300 volunteers.
The migration history show comes to the beach at Cronulla
23.01.07A mobile museum of migration history will be set up at Cronulla this weekend to promote cultural awareness and harmony in the Sutherland Shire.
Community Liaison Teams return to Cronulla beach
19.01.07 The teams of community liaison officers which helped calm community tension in Cronulla last summer will return to the beaches this weekend. The teams, made up of people of Arabic speaking background (both Muslim and Christian faiths) and non-Arabic speaking people from Sutherland or St George community organisations, will patrol the beaches, parks and shopping mall at Cronulla seven days a week.
