A youth leadership programme aimed at the brightest young minds in the Egyptian community in New South Wales was launched this week by the Chair of the CRC, Stepan Kerkyasharian.

The launch followed a ceremony at Parliament House, Sydney, hosted by the New South Wales Minister for Education and Training, John Della Bosca, to acknowledge the successful HSC students in 2007 from the Egyptian Community.

The event was organised by the Australian Egyptian Council Forum which has developed the 3E Inspirational Leadership Program.

The 3E Program (the Young Egyptian Engagement and Empowerment Program)
aims to “challenge young people to become high potential professional and community members and to develop their skills to become the next leaders in the Australian Egyptian community in Sydney”.

Officially launching the program, Mr Kerkyasharian, said: “This program will enhance the self-esteem and well-being of young people so that they may successfully engage with the community. It will identify any barriers they may encounter and assist them in developing a sense of community responsibility. It will also provide them with the necessary leadership skills.”
