Sponsorship Grants

Sponsorship grants are for special events such as festivals and major cultural events. Organisations are required to apply three months prior to the date of the event.

The purpose of this category is to provide public support for an event or an occasion by the New South Wales Government through the Community Relations Commission. It will also promote the Commission’s responsibility and the commitment of the Government of New South Wales to multiculturalism and the value of cultural diversity.

Examples of projects supported by funding in this category are:

• the hosting of seminars and conferences
• multicultural and inter-community forums
• local festivals and events
• teaching craft skills to target groups from a culturally diverse background.

The sponsorship fund provided by the Commission is a nominal amount, typically in the order of $1,000 to $2,000, to indicate support of the activity by the Commission.  It is not provided to facilitate the financial viability of the event.
